Description

Hi, here you can find all informations how to build your own Rough Terrain Crane.

My goals for this project:
- affordable parts
- modular build
- easy maintenance
- playability
- playing with kids (limit switches on all possible functions)
- real lifting capabilities

Tested about 17kg (37lbs) load lifting so far. It work. I think limit may be about 20kg.

RC Functions
All functions are electric controlled. No hydraulics.

  1. 2 axle steering (2x 40kg servos)
  2. All wheel drive (Locked differential)
  3. Slewing
  4. Outrigger beams (extend/retract)
  5. Outriggers (extend/retract)
  6. Boom lift cylinder (lifting/lowering)
  7. Telescopic Boom, 1 section (extend/retract)
  8. Main hook
  9. Fast line
  10. LED Lights

It's optimised to print on 250x250mm printbed.
I've printed all parts on Bambulab X1C.

I used PETG from Sunlu to print all the parts except small TPU pads for outriggers.

I strongly recommend calibrate and use ironing on your printer so top layers will be super smooth.
